Discount the whole order
In the cart, press "Order discount". Choose "Percent" or "Amount". For a percent, tap 5 %, 10 % or 20 %, or type it under "Other percent". Pick a reason – Regular customer, Birthday, Making up for a mistake, or Other and type a few words – then press "Apply".
The cart gets two more lines, "Subtotal" and "Discount", and the total already has it taken off. To change it press "Change order discount"; to drop it, open it again and press "Remove discount". Hold the order and the discount goes with it.
Discount or reprice one item
Press "Discount / price" under the item. The "Discount – (item)" panel has a "Price per item" field for a different price, with the catalog price shown underneath. A lower price counts as a discount; a higher one does not. An item can also take a percent or an amount off, like the whole order.
A discounted or repriced item shows its original price struck through next to the price sold, so the cashier sees it at a glance.
When a manager has to approve
The device adds up everything taken off the order: the order discount, item discounts and prices lowered by hand. If that comes to 20 % of the order or more, the discount panel says "This discount needs a manager when the order is paid." and a reason becomes required.
When you take cash or a QR payment, "Manager approval for the discount" appears. The manager picks their name and enters their PIN, and the order is saved with who approved it. Approval needs a connection.
Add an item or change the discount after it was approved and it has to be approved again: the manager only approves the exact amount at that moment.
No manager around, or offline
If no manager is at the counter, press "No manager – sell anyway, the owner reviews". Offline, the device doesn’t ask for approval and the cart says "The owner will review this discount." Either way the sale goes through and the customer doesn’t wait.
In Hensa Dashboard, To do shows "Discount not approved – Q1-0042 (…)". The owner opens the order, checks it and presses "Seen".
Changing the approval level
It is 20 % by default. The owner changes it in Dashboard › Settings › POS devices › POS settings, field "Discount needing manager approval from". Set 0 and every discount needs approval; set 100 and none does.
